The Giants will stay at home to host the Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal NFC East matchup on Nov. 24

Mara is a member of the league’s Competition Committee and has been a part of the push to change the rules to make the game safer for players. That has led to frustration from defensive players, complaints from some that the league is going too far and criticism of officials.

Mara said the league is “heading in the right direction.”

“You can’t have it both ways,” Mara said. “We’re trying to make the game safer, we’re trying to decrease the hits to the head and neck area and unfortunately that’s occasionally going to lead to calls that people are going to complain about.”

The Giants will stay at home to host the Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal NFC East matchup on Nov. 24. The Packers will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings in what could be Rodgers’ return.

SB Nation’s panel experts like the Giants to win by a tally of four prognosticators to two, but the game could be close. Tolzien was much better than expected last week, and the Giants haven’t looked THAT impressive the last three weeks, especially considering the competition they have faced. How the Giants offense fares against a reeling Packers defense will be the key. Eli Manning and Co. should be just good enough.

After a No. 53 S&P+ ranking in 2017, WMU headed into last fall with high expectations due to the combination of high-caliber recruiting and most of a potent offense returning. Still, it took both S&P+ and Vegas a little while to figure out just how impressive the Broncos were. You could make some money picking WMU early in the year.

Eventually, the markets adjusted. WMU improved (offensively, at least) as the season progressed, but both S&P+ and Vegas caught on. And after the big win over Toledo clinched an unbeaten regular season, the Broncos slipped a hair in the postseason. The Broncos still weren’t bad, but there was regression.

Dak Prescott heats up prank war with Ezekiel Elliott by filling his locker with M&M’s

The Dallas Cowboys locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC and have just one more regular season game before a one-week break in the playoffs. There isn’t much to stress about, and the two rookies leading the way for the team are keeping the mood light with the beginnings of a prank war.

It started Wednesday when quarterback Dak Prescott was meeting with the media in the Cowboys locker room. Running back Ezekiel Elliott did everything possible to distract Prescott, launching straw wrappers and spitballs at the quarterback.

Prescott and Elliott have had a playful relationship with each other all season, and had a lengthy back and forth two months ago that started when Elliott roasted the quarterback for his shoes.

The Cowboys have been a fun and light-hearted team that has bulldozed through its schedule while seemingly never allowing pressure to cause it to crumble. A locker room prank war with the playoffs on the way just seems to fit, and M&M’s are happy to provide more candy to do it.

In case you still didn’t know, Rob Gronkowski is also really good

Also joining rarified statistical air is New England’s Rob Gronkowski, who returned to action after missing a game with a knee injury. Gronk caught four passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots blowout win over the Texans, and in doing so, moved to double-digits in touchdowns on the year (10).

Here’s a little perspective on the greatness you’re witnessing: He’s the first tight end in NFL history with five seasons of 10-plus touchdowns, and only the 10th player all time with five seasons of double-digit touchdowns. Incredible.

So here’s a random one: With Marcus Mariota’s awesome 41-yard touchdown catch from running back Antonio Andrews, he became the first NFL player with 40-plus yard touchdowns via the pass, the rush, and from a reception in a single season since Walter Payton did that in 1983. Not too shabby.
