You can’t stop Preds fans, you can only hope to contain them

The Predators are so popular in Nashville that even an outdoor viewing party is a tough ticket.

The city, expecting another massive crowd in downtown Nashville for Monday’s Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Penguins, will require wristbands for fans who want to watch the game on a big-screen TV on the plaza right outside Bridgestone Arena, the Tennessean reported.

So why is the Predators’ biggest star staying quiet?

Elite Kids Carl Lawson Jersey Whatever the reason, the media is not happy. When the team took to the ice for an optional skate Sunday afternoon, Subban was out there. Normally, that means the players practicing will talk to the media, which is in accordance to NHL media rules.

However, Subban entered the locker room fully dressed, then walked out. According to Yahoo Sports, he was heard asking Predators staff members if he should talk to the media. Apparently the answer was no, because the media was informed Subban won’t be talking.

The reasoning? Subban doesn’t talk on game days. That explanation is interesting, considering Subban normally talked to the press on game days during the regular season.

Now the Professional Hockey Writers Association is expected to file a report against the Predators for holding Subban out of media availability. Given how important Game 6 is for Nashville, it is surprising Subban isn’t talking.
